Why we built it
Most of our development work is under NDA or lives inside a client's private product. TaskFlow — a task and team-management app we call SmartTask — is a concept project we built openly so prospective clients can see how we actually work on a mobile build, not just the finished screens.
It follows a realistic brief: a small team needs to plan work, assign it, and see where things stand without living in email. The point isn't the idea; it's the method.
The process
We ran it the way we run a real engagement:
- Requirements first. We started from the business goal and the jobs a user needs to get done, then mapped the flows before drawing a single screen.
- Design in Figma. Wireframes to resolve structure and navigation, then a full interface — component-based, so it stays consistent as the app grows.
- Interaction design. Real states, not just the happy path: empty lists, loading, errors, offline. These are what make an app feel finished.
- Build. Native Android in Kotlin and Java, developed in Android Studio, wired to a backend over a REST API with Firebase for auth, data, and notifications. Version-controlled in Git throughout.
What it shows
TaskFlow is a demonstration, not a shipped product — but it's built to production standards, not as a throwaway mockup. It's the reference we point to when a client wants to know how we approach a mobile project: how we get from a vague idea to a defined scope, how the design system holds together, and how the interface connects to a real backend.
