Free Checklist — HVAC Companies
The HVAC Website & Online Presence Checklist
Run through these 10 checks against your own site and Google Business Profile. Most HVAC companies are missing at least three of these — and each one is a direct reason jobs go to a competitor instead.

- 1
Google Business Profile is claimed, verified, and fully filled out
Service areas, hours, photos of your trucks/team, and services listed — an incomplete profile ranks below competitors with a complete one, regardless of how good your work is.
- 2
Your site loads in under 3 seconds on mobile
Most searches for "AC repair near me" happen on a phone, often mid-emergency. A slow site loses that visitor to the next result before it finishes loading.
- 3
Your phone number is a tap-to-call link on every page
Not just the contact page — the header, the footer, every service page. Someone standing next to a broken furnace won't hunt for it.
- 4
Emergency/24-7 availability is visible above the fold
If you offer it, say so where it can't be missed. This is often the single deciding factor between two similarly-ranked companies.
- 5
You have 10+ recent Google reviews, and you're responding to all of them
Review count and recency both factor into local ranking, and a business that visibly responds to reviews reads as more trustworthy to someone comparing options.
- 6
You have a dedicated page for each service area you cover
One generic "service area" page can't rank for "[your city] HVAC repair" the way a page built specifically for that city can.
- 7
There's a real booking or service-request form, not just a phone number
Some customers — especially for non-urgent work — would rather fill out a form than call. Not offering that option loses those leads to a competitor who does.
- 8
Your site has LocalBusiness schema markup
This is what lets Google show your hours, rating, and service area directly in search results instead of just a plain blue link.
- 9
Your site runs on HTTPS with no mixed-content warnings
A browser security warning on a home services site — where trust is the entire sale — is an instant bounce.
- 10
You have a system for following up on missed calls and unanswered forms
The lead that doesn't get a callback within the hour usually books with whoever called them back first, not whoever gave the best quote.
